Torture Hammock is a "15 minute comic". Basically, someone gives a word, or a few words, as a title for the comic, then I draw the first thing that comes into head, taking only 15(ish) minutes to do each one. And it shows.
Wouldn't you like to know...
Actually, you probably don't. I'm not using my real name because of the demented nature of the strip. Regardless, all images and content are copyrighted to me. Frankly, if you do copy them, you have more serious issues than I do.
If I've done my job properly, there should be no mention of my name at all on this site. I don't sign my real name on the comics, except for a few accidental exceptions which I've "rubbed out".
Okay, so you don't want us to know your name, can you tell us anything else? Not that I care or anything...
Fine. I'm 25 years old, I live in Saitama (just north of Tokyo), Japan and I've been living here for 3 years. Originally, i'm from Canberra, Australia. I currently work as, yes you guessed it, an English teacher. A primary (elementry) school teacher actually.
I'm a graduate in the field of film making and writing.
With all that information I guess it would be possible to work out who I really am, but I'm guessing no one would go to that much effort or actully care what my real name is. So anonymity works just fine for me.
Is this your first comic?
Surprising not. I was the cartoonist for my University Magazine back in the day. The strip was actually scripted, penciled and inked. Actually, it turned out about the same as they do now. Even with all the preperation, the only difference was the writing was actually readable. The strip was called "(For Your) General Amusement" (FYGA for short) and was famous, at least with my friends, for the invention of the Beer-keg Backpack. FYGA has never been put up on the internet. At least to my knowledge.
So at least I can say I've been published as a cartoonist before.
Who cares? Your comic is crap! You can't spell, your handwritings awful and your drawings suck!
Well, if you don't like it, don't read it. Feel free to post comments if you have constructive things to say though. Despite all the things mentioned above, some people do like my comic, or at least laugh at it. Which is the general idea. Besides, what do you expect for 15 minutes?
